Bugatti Brouillard in the rain
Earlier last month, Bugatti unveiled a spectacular car – a commissioned one-off in their new “Programme Solitaire”: the Bugatti Brouillard.
The Brouillard is visually based on the Bugatti Mistral, but has been in development for 18 months and will only be fully ready in 2027. This should give you a hint that it’s not just a Mistral with a roof slapped on.
The name comes from Ettore Bugatti’s favorite horse, a theme which is very visually present throughout the car. The seats – designed by the client Michel Perridon himself – are clearly horse themed, there’s horse hair in the door cards and the gear shifter even has a horse head embedded in it.

When I saw the Brouillard at launch, I was mesmerized. I always thought the Mistral was a striking car, and this one just took it up a notch. A lovely blend of both Chiron and the new upcoming Tourbillon, combined with a unique color and the Chiron’s outgoing quad-turbo W16.
So when Wheels Mariënwaerdt announced the Brouillard would have its Dutch premiere at their Concours d’Elegance, I just had to shoot it. I was going to be there anyway to shoot the rest of the Concours, but the Brouillard had just become one of the highlights.
However, when I arrived there late in the afternoon, things were looking bleak. A massive rainstorm had just hit the concours, right around closing time – fortunately. When doing the traditional golf cart tour of the premises, the Brouillard was covered up and it looked unlikely that I’d be able to shoot it: removing the covers off a €16 million hypercar in between rain storms is not what we call “light beer”.

But, while I was shooting other cars, Charlie at Wheels Mariënwaerdt was able to pull some strings, and alas: we were allowed to take the covers off, as radars indicated there was no further rain forecasted that night. Darkness was slowly setting in, so I grabbed my gear and started shooting.

The Brouillard was commissioned by The Perridon Collection, owned by real estate developer Michel Perridon. The collection is the largest Bugatti collection in the world – and many of them were also on display. Including classic Bugattis, Veyrons, and an EB110 Supersport!
Anyway, enough talking. Enjoy the rest of the shoot!
